Debla

Ingredients:-
1 kilo (2 Pounds) white flower
4 eggs
1 cup ghee or butter
1 small spoon baking powder
3 cups sugar
3 cups water
Small spoon Salt
frying oil (such as vegetable, canola or corn oil)
Rose water
Directions:-
1)- Mix sugar with water and cook for 15 minutes.
2)- Add a large spoon rose water and remove from heat and let it sit
3)- Add baking powder, salt, ghee and eggs to the flower and kneed well till you create a soft dough
4)- Cut the dough into pieces (the size of a baseball)
5)- Flatten each piece with a rolling pin (use a dash of flower to prevent the dough from sticking to the rolling pin)
6)- Cut the flattened dough into 1/2 inch strips and role it around itself & press the layers so they will stick to each other and will look like a flower
7)- Heat oil In a skillet, fry the flower shaped debla till it turns into a golden color
8)- Dip the golden fried debla into the Syrup you made of the sugar, flower, water and rose water
9)- Remove the debla from the syrup and set it on a flat strainer and let it drain, and serve. |
