Ghrayba

Ingredients:
1- 2 cups ghee
2- 4 cups white flour
3- 1 cup ground sugar
4- 1 pound peeled white almonds
5- Rose water (optional)
Directions:
1- Preheat the oven on high (450 degrees)
2- Use a skillet or frying pan and melt the ghee, then pour the
ghee in a mixing bowl
3- Add the sugar to the gee and mix till all the sugar melts.
4- Add the white flour to the mix and kneed with hand very well.
5- Cut the dough into a small pieces and form each one into balls
(meatball size)
6- With the palm of your hand flatten the dough balls into a round
shape with a thickness in between half an inch to a three quarter
of an inch.
7- Line up the round dough pieces on a flat baking sheet or tray,
and stick an almond on top center of each one.
8- Bake till the ghrayba begins to crack and the almonds are roasted,
but not burned
9- Take out of the oven and let it cool off for a couple of minutes,
then with a spatula scoop the ghrayba 2 - 3 at time and place on
a clean flat wooden or marble surface and let it cool
10- Some like to sprinkle rose water over the ghrayba and serve
it with mint tea and hazel nuts. Enjoy
