Maghrood

Ingredients:
2 Pounds Cuscus
2 Pounds ground Dates (no pits)
1-cup sugar
1 spoon baking powder
Half a cup sesame seeds
Olive oil
Small spoon shredded orange peels
Warm water
Juice Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
Half spoon lemon juice
Small spoon rose water
Directions:
1- Add quarter cup water and another quarter cup olive oil to the
ground dates and cook for about 5 minutes. Add the shredded orange
peels to the mix.
2- Mix the (ready) Cuscus with the baking powder and the sugar,
then add a quarter cup olive oil and the sesame seeds and a little
warm water then kneed well with both hands till it's firm and has
a doughy feel to it.
3- Spread the Cuscus dough on a clean flat surface with a little
less than half inch thickness.
3- Spread the date mix over the Cuscus mix (about a quarter inch
thick), then roll the whole thing into a tube shape, then flatten
with hand slightly.
4- Cut into half inch pieces and line the pieces in a baking tray
and bake till it turns into a golden color
Directions for the juice:
Mix the sugar and the water and cook on a low heat for about half
an hour. Add lemon juice then remove from the heat. Add rose water,
mix then let it set to cool off.
When take the maghrood out of the oven dip each piece into the juice
and sprinkle sesame seeds on the top. Let the maghrood to cool off
then serve.
